Hello, everyone! The sun is out and I am happy today. This week we’ll be taking a look at sunflowers and cake, extra long limbs, and as always – amputations!

Last week’s post was the end of my underwater series, and I decided to return to my roots, which is… sunflowers. Always and forever, I will love sunflowers. For me, they represent the beginning of my true artistic passion, as well as the beginning of my journey to sobriety. They mean a lot to me. I’m excited to show you these drawings!

My favorites are “Overlap Serenity,” What a Big, Fat Flower You Have!”, “It is your birthday.” and “Video Killed the ____”. I might have mentioned it before, but I feel the underwater series really helped me to get a better grasp on anatomy. There was this weird switch afterwards where suddenly I felt I understood everything just a little bit better. As always, I’m a work in progress. I know my pieces aren’t the most incredible, mindblowing things in the world. They’re just illustrations, right? But I love them and I love working on them, and seeing the progress I’ve made… and sharing that progress with you.
