This week’s share, we’re looking at a lot of spikes, distortions, and hats. There are probably too many spikes going on, to be fair. Clearly I was exploring something here.
The first drawing is pretty special to me because it was the first commission I’ve ever done from a complete internet stranger. She pitched an idea to me, I drew it, and then she had some changes. Since I color everything in with marker, I had to import the image to Photoshop and then make the changes digitally. The product is the third image, titled “Freedom 2.0”. I think it turned out really well.
I can tell by looking at these drawings that we’re about to be entering a new style that I explored for a couple of months – I started to do a sort of “overexposed look,” which you’ll probably begin to see with next week’s posts. Stay tuned!
I really like the image titled “Overexposure” – as per usual, some of my favorite pieces tend to be the ones where the model is facing away from the camera. I like other drawings from this share as well, but really none of them are particularly memorable to me. I think, if anything, I’m just appreciating that I’m starting to understand the body a lot more.
Anyway – as always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or comments or interest in my pieces. You can contact me through my website or on instagram. Be sure to check out last week’s share as well!
