Hey, all! This week we’ve got toucans, barn owls, and more! I really enjoy so many of the illustrations from this week. I think the only negative is that aside from the first two, I started using a different type of paper… and the marker doesn’t absorb as well. It’s only for a little bit though. I think after next week it will be back to normal, but until then… everything is a litttttttle streaky. Hang in there!
“A Gift for My Mother” is just that – a Mother’s Day gift for my mom. Her favorite animal is the owl, and I think barn owls are absolutely beautiful creatures so I decided to do that! Funnily enough, many years ago I painted a barn owl as a gift for a friend of mine. It was… okay… but I think this illustration more than made up for what that painting was lacking. If you’re interested in seeing that painting, shoot me a message on instagram or through the site and I’ll try to find it for ya.
I also really like “You Can, Toucan,” and “I Love You, Whale.” As a kid, I was so fascinated when I discovered what a toucan was. What a colorful, big-beaked bird! And whales… don’t even get me started! I love them so much.
What are your favorites from the week? Let me know!
Be sure to check out last week’s post as well.
