Alright, people! We’ve got the northern lights continued – and this is actually the last of the main series for the most part. I do love the northern lights so much but it felt like it was time to move onto something else. Sometimes I get so familiar with something and I know it’s working well for me, but then I get stuck and uninspired so I have to move on to the next thing.
I also would like to share that pretty recently, a venue reached out to me on Instagram and they are going to be showing seven of my drawings from April through June which is incredibly exciting for me. I’ve never been part of an art show before, so yahoo!
Anyway – northern lights continued, right. I got a little experimental with it for “A Little Bit of This” – I wanted to see if I could make it sort of matrix-y. I am not the biggest fan of how it turned out, but it’s okay I guess. Another honorable mention for the week is “Dillan.” I thought it would be a cute bonding experience to have my nine year old nephew color it in with marker. I told him he could use whatever colors he wanted, and that’s what he came up with!
My favorite from this week is 100% “Bow.” Even now, quite a few months later, I still look back on that illustration and am proud of it. I think it was the peak of the northern lights skin texture for me, and I love the movement. I like “The Last Show,” too, because I feel like it started to push me into my new direction which you will start to see next week!
Let me know what your favorites are! Write me on instagram or contact me here. Be sure to check out last week’s post as well!
