Hello, everybody! The general theme of this week seems to be warped heads and gauze. Warped heads, because, well there are a lot of strangely-shaped heads in this week’s share. Gauze, because… a lot of those heads are wrapped in gauze! There’s also one full-body-gauze sort of thing going on, too. Also, I was so into this idea of multiple-headed people, and I will say I really love how they turned out – especially the first drawing.
I continue into distortions and amputations, as is pretty clear in the drawings below. In some of them, I have strange, distorted, alien-esque growths, like in the nude man leaning backwards on the ground.
At this point, I feel I’m starting to get more comfortable with the body, and different positions that aren’t necessarily static and “simple.” I will admit, something I still struggle with today is getting different perspectives of the body right. I think I’m still trying to understand three-dimensional form, and it’s not a super easy concept to get a grasp on. I’ve watched so many tutorials, I’ve practiced, practiced, practiced, but I think it’s just going to be one of those things that I hone over time.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this week’s share!
Please feel free to reach out on instagram or through my website with any interest in my pieces – or questions, or comments, or just to say hi! I’d love to hear from you.
