Underwater Adventures: September 15th to September 21st, 2020

Hello, hello! This week’s share is the inception of my underwater adventures series. I am in love with this series. It was so fun for me. Back in September I was really reminiscing on my trip to the Big Island of Hawai’i and the time I spend underwater there – I decided to do a series honoring my time there.

One thing I especially enjoyed is the silhouette nature of these drawings – I’m not focusing on specific details, but rather trying to get the contour of the model correctly. I think by the time I finished this series, I really had started to understand bodies a lot better. Stay tuned and you can decide for yourself.

There’s something so beautiful about the marriage between humans and animals to me. Unfortunately, we are damaging sea creatures’ habitats with pollution and overfishing, climate change, etc. and I wanted to try to remind the viewer of the beauty that we are… destroying.

“Isla Mujeres” and “Big Island Manta” are my favorites from this week. What are yours? Let me know on instagram or contact me here. Be sure to check out last week’s post as well!
